We owe the victory to our setter Drzyzga, says Kurek

 

Fukuoka, Japan, October 5, 2019 – Wilfredo Leon scored a match-high 20 points as Poland downed Argentina 3-1 (27-29, 25-17, 25-18, 24-26) at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup on Saturday.

Poland coach Vital Heynen: "I was impressed with Argentina in their first and second matches. They also played well today. They may be playing the best volleyball in this tournament. Yesterday we lost to the United States, today we beat Argentina, which played very nice volleyball."

Poland captain Bartosz Kurek: "It was a good game. It was a hard game, but the result was fine for us. They are good. We had to give more than 100 per cent to win today. We owe the victory to our setter Fabian Drzyzga. He did a great job."

Argentina coach Marcelo Mendez: "It was a difficult match. The first set was good. Poland is an excellent team that plays at a high level. We worked hard. Argentina is a young team that is playing hard and trying to improve. I hope they will grow with each match."

: "Everyone worked hard in today’s match. Poland is a high-ranked team. We are pleased to play against them."

Argentina player Ezequiel Palacios: "It was a good match. It was a difficult one. The physical conditions are demanding. This is our third match and we are a bit tired."
