Hiroshima, Japan, October 13, 2019 – Hamza Nagga scored a match-high 25 points as Tunisia picked up their first victory with a 3-1 (25-23, 14-25, 25-17, 25-18) triumph over Egypt at the FIVB Men’s World Cup on Sunday.

Tunisia coach Antonio Giaccobe: There is a saying about meeting victory or disaster in the same way. That’s what we have done - play with the same team each day. I have coached many players from Egypt. I feel big emotions when playing Egypt. Our players had big concentration tonight. Egypt has played well against strong teams in the tournament. We are proud. we are an African team and want to raise our level. Nagga scored a lot like always. Today we played with three attackers.

Tunisia captain Hosni Kara Mosli: "We are happy to get our first winn. We have been waiting for this. Our attack and defense was good. We disrupted them with our service. Our blocking and attacking was good. We hope to continue playing the same way so we can win more."

Egypt coach Gido Vermeulen: "They did a good job. Their service pressure was good and they blocked better. We took control in the second set, but lost it in the third set. I’m not happy with my team. They stopped fighting. We wanted to receive good and play in the middle but were not able to."

Egypt captain Ahmed Abdelhay: "Congratulations to our brothers from Tunisia. They played better and had good concentration, especially spiking from position four."Youtube
