Lang Ping: My players kept their focus against USA

Sapporo, Japan, September 22, 2019 – Superstar Zhu Ting posted a match-high 23 points to lead China to a dominating 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-22) victory over the United States and remain unbeaten (7-0) at the FIVB Women’s World Cup on Monday while dealing the United States (6-1) their first loss of the tournament.

China coach Lang Ping: "Each time we play the United States we know it is going to be tough. We tried to keep up with their quick attacks, but my players kept their focus today."

China captain Zhu Ting: "Today’s match was good overall. We kept our focus and concentration so we were able to win."

China player Zhang Changning
: "We were fully prepared for today’s match, so we are happy to win in this manner."

USA coach Karch Kiraly: "China played very strong in this match. They were good in service and reception and we could not overcome those advantages they had today. When we receive well our offence is effective. When the other team serves well, we are not as effective."

USA captain Jordan Larson: "We are disappointed. Our intention was there but China came out very strong. We could not execute. Their offence and defence went well and their service was good. We have to focus for tomorrow and the Dominican Republic."

USA player Karsta Lowe: "We just were not able to execute today. China was strong and we could not match their strength today. We have a lot to focus on."
