Lang Ping: Blocking and receiving were the most difficult aspects

Sapporo, Japan, September 22, 2019 – Zhu Ting and Yuan Xinyue scored a match-high 26 points each as China outlasted Brazil 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-9) in a five-set thriller to maintain their perfect record (6-0) at the FIVB Women’s World Cup on Sunday.

China coach Lang Ping: "It was an excellent and difficult match. We prepared fully. Brazil always gives us trouble. Blocking and receiving were the most difficult aspects for us today. They introduced a couple of young players today who we did not know much about. I think they will grow a lot."

China captain Zhu Ting: "We had good teamwork today. It was a tough match but we kept our patience and were able to win. I am happy about that."

China player Yuan Xinyue: "It was a tough match. We feel we have to prepare for the upcoming matches."

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes: "I’m proud of my team. We fought from the beginning to the end. Our attitude was good. We need to keep going at a good level. You have to play like this against the Olympic champions. It will be important for us to play like this against the Dominican Republic tomorrow."

Brazil captain Fabiana Claudino: "It is too bad we lost. It was a good match that was full of energy. Hopefully we will improve in the next match."

Brazil player Sheilla Castro: "We were able to show the difference from our previous matches. Our serve gave difficulties to China. I hope we can improve more."
