I'm proud of the way we respected our opponents, says Speraw

Fukuoka, Japan, October 6, 2019 – Mitchell Stahl scored 10 points as the United States defeated Tunisia 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-17) at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup on Sunday.

USA coach John Speraw
: "I thought Joshua Tuaniga and Ben Patch played well today. Josh is a talented setter and Ben is an opposite with a bright future. He is an exciting player. It is good to get them playing time against meaningful opponents. I’m proud of the way we respected our opponents and played hard and consistently today, the way we talk about playing at USA Volleyball."

USA player Aaron Russell
: "This game gave us confidence. Our bench players got a chance to play. We served well and were prepared. Our second-team players did a nice job today."

Tunisia coach Antonio Giaccobe: "There was a big difference today. We can say it was clear. Against the USA we learned many important things playing with them. The first six of USA are stronger, but their system is the same with both their first and second teams."

Tunisia player Hamza Nagga: "They are an excellent team. They are the 2015 World Cup champions. We are happy to play against them. They are a strong opponent. We can learn a lot of things from this game."
