Brazil coach Dal Zotto: "It was a special match"

Hiroshima, Japan, October 10, 2019 – Alan Souza scored 16 points as Brazil beat the United States 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-17) at the FIVB Men’s World Cup on Thursday.

Brazil coach Renan Dal Zotto: "It was a special match. USA is one of the best teams in the world. They played well in service, reception and attack, but we were inspired and came back from a large deficit in the third set. The first two sets were close. The third set showed our character.

Brazil captain Bruno Rezende: It was a really great game. They are one of the best teams in the world. We played point by point. We kept our concentration. We did not think about the finish of the match. We showed that the game is not just about physical and tactical, it is about mental and we showed our strength and kept our focus.

USA coach John Speraw: "Brazil was better in every facet tonight. We struggled to stop their offense. Everyone of their hitters had a good night. It is a difficult loss. We have to learn from it and be better tomorrow."

USA captain Micah Christenson: "They played incredible volleyball. They set the tone early. We could not get the lead and extend it. We have to take this experience and grow from it."
